A woman is suing Kraft Heinz Food Company over the cook time on mac and cheese, Daily Wire reports.
According to the report, Amanda Ramirez is suing Kraft for $5 million over the company’s mac and cheese product taking more than 3 and a half minutes to cook.
“The statement of ‘ready in 3½ minutes’ is false and misleading because the Product takes longer than 3-and-a-half minutes to prepare for consumption,” the lawsuit stated.
“Consumers seeing ‘ready in 3½ minutes’ will believe it represents the total amount of time it takes to prepare the Product, meaning from the moment it is unopened to the moment it is ready for consumption,” it stated.
The lawsuit also claims that the product is able to charge more money because of how quickly the product can be cooked.
Kraft commented on the suit to the Washington Post saying the “frivolous lawsuit” and “will strongly defend against the allegations in the complaint.”
