CNN has suspended host Chris Cuomo from hosting his show, Cuomo Primetime.
According to the New York Post, CNN President Jeff Zucker was livid when he found out the extent of which Chris Cuomo was involved in his brother’s defense.
“It was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” one CNN insider said Wednesday.
“Zucker loved Chris, but the e-mails and texts did it.”
Another CNN source said of Cuomo, “His biggest crime was he lied to Zucker.”
Other source are saying that it is unlikely that Cuomo will keep his job at CNN. It is rumored that he makes $6 million a year to host Cuomo Primetime.
It is rumored that if Cuomo is permanently out, Jake Tapper may be the next one to host the primetime hour for CNN. However, it is also being reported that both Don Lemon and Brian Stelter wants to host the primetime hour.
Stelter has come out and publicly stated he believes Cuomo will be back in January.
“a lot of viewers . . . love Chris Cuomo and they want to see him back on the air.”
“I think the bottom line is, Cuomo is on the bench for now,” he said.
“We’re heading into a holiday season. I think it’s possible he will be on the bench for several weeks. I think it’s possible he’ll be back in January.”
Only time will tell if Cuomo will return to CNN.
