Tonight the Top 10 of Season 9 of The Voice sang their hearts out!
Overall I think tonight brought some pretty great performances, but it also brought a few, not so great, performances.
To start of the night, Jeffery Austin from Team Gwen sang “Jealous.” He has had some very good songs picked for him and I am amazed by how much he’s improved since the blind auditions. He should have a spot in the next set performances.
Next was Team Blake’s Emily Ann Roberts who sang “She Got You.” This song was similar to others that she has performed in past weeks and I think that it’s working to her advantage. Emily has a beautiful voice and never disappoints during any performance.
Braiden Sunshine, from Team Gwen, was next, and he performed “Radioactive.” I think that this could have been a really awesome performance if it was another contestant. Unfortunately, Braiden was not able to pull off this song and it’s unique Voice rendition. Sadly, I think Braiden’s time on The Voice is coming to an end soon.
From Team Adam, we have Shelby Brown who performed “Go Rest High on That Mountain.” Shelby has amazed me every week since her blind audition. I think that she has a lot of potential, but tonight her performance was a little off, just a little. I don’t think that will hurt her though, she should be good for another week.
Korin Bukowski, from Team Gwen, followed with a performance of “Same Old Love.” Korin has been saved for two weeks in a row, and she needed an amazing to make up for those times. Although this wasn’t her best performance overall, it is the best she’s had in the last couple weeks. I don’t think it was awesome, but it might be enough to keep her out of the bottom for this week.
One of my personal favorites, Amy Vachal, from Team Adam, performed “Bye Bye Bye.” I love what Adam is doing with her sound, putting a spin on popular songs like this is a great idea and each and every week Amy slays! She has a high chance of making it farther in this competition.
Fan favorite, Jordan Smith from Team Adam, performed “Hallelujah.” Not much of a shocker here but Jordan gave another great performance. I think he has a very very high chance of making it to the finals. That will most likely where he’ll give the performance of a lifetime… you heard it here first, just wait for it.
Another personal favorite, Zach Seabaugh from Team Blake performed “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” Although this kind of song pretty much defines Zach’s performances, I feel like this performance was lacking… something, not exactly sure what is was though.
Pharrell’s only team member, Madi Davis performed “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” I think her spin to this song was perfect for her and it was great timing as far as the show goes. As far as the competition goes, she is Pharrell’s only hope of winning this season, and the pressure is all on her, however, I think she is taking it like a champ. Madi should be good for another week thankfully.
Closing out the night, was, another favorite, Barrett Baber performing “I’d Just Love to Lay You Down.” This performance was a lot better than last week’s and I think that Barrett has a true chance of getting through this week’s eliminations.
Hope you guys enjoyed tonight’s show! Don’t forget to VOTE!!!
