Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey gives $15 million to cities for guaranteed income

Capitalism is at work with Jack Dorsey donating $15 million to cities to guarantee income to its residents. This is Dorsey’s second gift toward this initiative.

Dorsey announced on Tuesday that he is giving $500,000 to cities taking part of this program for this guaranteed income pilot program. Some of the cities participating in the program include St. Paul, Minnesota, Compton, California, and Stockton, California.

According to the New York Post, some cities are spreading the wealth across their city. Pittsburgh for example is planning on giving 200 residents $500 a month for 2 years. In Richmond, Virginia, 18 families will be getting direct support from the cities to “to meet immediate needs and build wealth…”

“Thank you … to all the Mayors of @mayorsforagi for these universal basic income pilots!” Dorsey tweeted Tuesday. “I hope they inform federal policy in the future.”
