Alter Bridge and Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti is really showing how good he is – even though everyone already knew it.
Tremonti released his 5th solo album, Marching In Time, and he shows us why he has been one of the best guitar players (arguably, the best modern guitar player) of his time. This record has everything that make a good rock record. This album has the hard metal that Tremonti is known for (A World Away), more melodic songs (title track “Marching in Time”), and even ballads (Not Afraid to Lose).
While I work on a more comprehensive review of Marching in Time I can honestly say that this is Tremonti’s best record to date. This doesn’t take into account his work with Creed or Alter Bridge as I don’t think you can really compare Alter Bridge to his solo work.
I will also tell you this: There is not one “skippable” song on this record. In fact, the entire record should be played from start to finish multiple times. Take a nice drive and listen to this record, you will not regret it.
