Top 10 games of the Last decade

With 2020 now here I thought it would be fun to look back at some of the best game from the last decade. Now, these games are just the ones I consider to be the best. So, if something that we all know should be on here and isn’t this is why.

Witcher 3 the wild hunt

This is one of those games that you can never stop playing the world of The Witcher is full of monsters and all kinds of stories to be told. With two DLCs that are basically whole new games on their own. The Witcher 3 story is one of the best I Have ever played and has some of the smoothest combat I’ve ever experienced in my life. If you have the chance toss a coin to your Witcher and see Geralt of Rivia’s greatest journey unfold.

Super Mario odyssey

The switch brought in its launch year not one but two amazing games Mario Odyssey is the definition of a fun platformer. For the hard-core gamer in all of us, there is secret after secret to be found in this game. And if you’re just looking for a fun run with Mario then this is the game. This game doesn’t need to have a story to just be what it is fun. With great music and levels to boot this is Mario greatest game yet.

God of war

This is to me the greatest game of decade this is the game that everyone should play once. Its story is that of change and learning about anger and being a father. This game proved you can take a character like Kratos and make him a fan favorite hero instead of well a giant jerk. You can feel the passion everyone who worked on this game put into the final game. From the combat to map design, as well at the acting. It also gave us the great feeling ever when Kratos called back his axe feeling exactly like Thor in a way.

Legend of Zelda breath of the wild

This is the definition of fun; this game gives you control of Link and says go. You decide what you want to and who do to it with, I love the idea this game has of just do whatever and maybe go to the main quest which is also super fun on its own. But this is the kind of game where you don’t have to go and follow the main path you can just hang around climb fight monster and go on the greatest adventure ever. It reminds me how great it is to play games in the first place and is such a great way to get in the Legend of Zelda games.

Batman Arkham City

Now I hate saying any games makes you “feel’ like you’re really a certain character, but in this game, you really become Batman. The only other game that captures Superheroes in this grand a way is Marvel’s Spider-man which will get to trust me. This is the game that truly shows what a superhero game can be when it has a great team backing it up. Smooth Stealth rooms, combat that feels like butter it so fast, a strong story that has a twist ending I never saw coming. This game has it all and when it got brought to current-gen, I played the crap out of It. This game has always been Batman’s greatest outing in this medium and in a lot of ways I feel paved the way for other great superhero games to exist as well as giving the mechanic of free-flow combat as well.

Last of us

Last of us is the greatest example of a narrative story done right. This game from the amazing opening to the ominous music throughout tells one of the most intricate stories’ I have ever been told. It’s a story of loss and fighting on anyways. It makes the zombie game genre feel fresh and new in a way we haven’t seen since. In a lot of ways, I feel this game also gave Sony the look over the shoulder camera perspective they use so much now. If you want to get in the feels and have a great time doing this the game for you.

Star Wars Battlefront 2

Now before you click off of this article hear me out. Was this game trash with a Star Wars logo on it? yes. Is EA a horrible company that I have never shy away from saying sucks? Yes. But after the year this game has had, I can truly say it’s has become one of my favorite games ever. Once EA took out all the negative parts like the loot boxes and focus on natural progression through gameplay. Then this not only feels fair to those of who spent the time leveling up but isn’t terrifying to play when you are a newcomer. With constant updates and all the free DLC we want, with a ton of new skins to boot this game became worthy of the Star Wars title is carries and is the greatest comeback story in gaming.

Skyrim

This is a game that I am replaying as we speak, to me, Skyrim will always be a second home. It’s this grand open world where you can be anything you want to be. You want to be the greatest thief of all time who happens to be a cat go for it. You want to be an all-powerful Wizard do it? Skyrim offers you the freedom of choice that no other game can truly offer you, It’s the reason now 9 years later people like me are still playing and finding new things in the game to do. It’s a game I’ll never truly finish, but it’s also the game I have spent most of my time with on this list and for good reason.

Marvel’s Spider-Man

If you have been reading my work on here for a while then you know how dear this game is to be. While 2018 was a great year in gaming all around arguably it’s best yet. While we had games like God of War and Red Dead 2. Spider-man’s new game is what made want to get a PS4 in the first place and felt like a fresh breath of air to the game industry. It was the first game in years that I just wanted to explore every inch of the map. This also happens to be one of the best versions of Spider-man and Peter Parker I have ever seen. I felt like this was such a fresh take on Spider-man and in a lot, ways very true to the comics. I haven’t even gotten to the gameplay which is so fluid and smooth, the web-swinging is better than any Spider-man game I have ever played.

Halo Reach

I have nothing but the greatest stories from my time with Halo Reach, for a long time, this was the only game I ever played not just it’s multiplayer either. which I think is still the most fun I have ever in a multiplayer game. The story this game tells is one of a losing war and survival, the noble team is this badass team with all their own reason for being a spartan and trying to save Reach. I love Halo combat in any version. It will always just be Halo to me, the custom maps are where it is at as well. I spent whole weekends with my friends playing maps we each built this was such a great game and it still one the best shooters around.

And that’s it, everyone, what are your favorites games of the 2010s? I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! N8
