The New York Post is reporting that social media app TikTok may be allowing 3-minute long videos.
TikTok has become popular for short-form video such as dance trends, comedy quips, and some political awareness videos. The change was spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra and posted a screenshot of the update to Twitter.
If TikTok is able to pull this off, this could be the first real competitor to the Alphabet owned Youtube. At 3-Minutes, TikTok would be able to offer midroll ads and help creators monetize their content even better.
