Rock Singer Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Slash) has released the title track for his up coming solo record, The Ides of March.
The track comes in at 7 minutes and 39 seconds. Kennedy really takes the listener on a sonic ride. You can hear Kennedy’s influences from Led Zeppelin on the record. You have a classic guitar sounding opening and then breaks into more familiar territory for Kennedy with a rock riff. And then, out of nowhere, it feels like a little George Micheal snuck into Kennedy’s listening while he wrote this song.
Honestly, I don’t say this very often, but this song should win a Grammy. The lyrics, the vocals, the music, they are all Grammy worthy. Kennedy grabs your attention and he doesn’t let go at any point in the song. If this song doesn’t win a Grammy next year, then the Grammy’s should be cancelled.
With the song being available right now for pre-saves on the record, Kennedy also released a music video which you can watch below!
