Bebe Rexha makes it known that fashion designers are allegedly claiming she’s “too big” to be fitted for a dress.
The pop star earned a Grammy nomination for best new artist for the 2019 show. As a two-time nominee, Rexha expressed her frustrations and struggles on Monday in a video posted to instagram.
She told her fans that she has had a rough time finding a designer who will fit her for the Grammy Awards next month.
Various designers refuse to dress her for the Grammy’s because the singer “isn’t runway size,” according to Rexha.
“So I finally get nominated at the Grammys, and it’s like the coolest thing ever,” she said. “A lot of times, artists will go and talk to designers, and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet, right? Like, you’ll go to any big designer.”
Rexha continued, “A lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. If a size 6-8 is too big, then i don’t want to wear your f***ing dresses.”
She made a clear statement that these designers think that women around the world size 8 and up are not beautiful enough to wear their designs.
“So all the people who say that I’m thick and can’t wear dresses, f*** you I don’t want to wear your dresses,” Rexha said.
Rexha is not letting this prevent her from attending the Grammy’s.
She is nominated for Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her song featuring Florida Georgia Line, “Meant to Be.”
Don’t miss the Grammy Awards which will broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 10 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. on CBS.
