Starbucks rescinds Vaccine Mandate

Coffee giant Starbucks has rescinded their vaccine mandate for U.S. based workers just weeks after announcing it.

The company cited the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the Biden administrations attempt to force companies with 100 or more employees to either have a vaccine mandate or test weekly. The justices voted 6-3 and rejected the mandate.

“We respect the court’s ruling and will comply,” Starbucks Chief Operating Officer John Culver wrote in the memo.

While the company is no longer mandating the vaccine, they are still highly encouraging their employees to be vaccinated and boosted. Starbucks also told their employees that the company doesn’t want them to wear cloth masks.

Starbucks also claims that a majority of their employees are vaccinated but wouldn’t reveal the exact percentage.
