Frontman of the legendary post-grunge rock band Creed, Scott Stapp, has released a new record call The Space Between The Shadows. Space is Stapp’s third solo album and the follow up to Proof of Life. In some ways, this album is the rebirth of Stapp as a mainstream solo artist.
Space is the perfect evolution for Stapp. The sound of the record is the perfect mix of old school Creed and the sound we’ve come to love from Stapp. Just as important as the sound, the story telling on this record is incredible.
The title of the album, The Space Between The Shadows, comes from the track “Name”. That song is a the story of Stapp going from a man without a father to a man with a son. In essence, the song is Stapp’s promise to his son that he will never leave his son.
Space also includes a song tributing all of the musicians we’ve lost over the years. “Gone Too Soon” is an incredible tribute to those we’ve lost.
“Purpose for Pain” is an incredibly uplifting and inspiring song about getting through rough patches. Stapp has a well documented history of drug and alcohol abuse as well as being diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. The album is full of some great gems and is worthy of download.
I would like to state for the record, Stapp has been an influential musician in my life. Creed was the first band I ever fell in love with. Stapp continues to inspire me with his music.
The Space Between The Shadows is out now on all major platforms.
