R. Kelly has been with Sony since the benning of his career. Well, kind of. Kelly started his career with Jive Records, which would later become part of Sony. Kelly has since been singed to RCA, which is also a Sony owned label.
Earlier today, Sony announced that R. Kelly is no longer a member of the Sony roster and has been removed from the RCA Website. This comes as part of the backlash from Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly series that showcases allegations against the RNB singer of domestic abuse and sexual encounters with minors.
R. Kelly’s removal from Sony is just one of many downfalls the singer has had since the docuseries as come out on Lifetime. Some of the singers songs have been removed from playlists and streaming platforms as well as Lady Gaga removing songs that R. Kelly helped produced or sang on.
