POP TV Adds New Sitcom From ‘American Pie’ Writer

POP TV is attempting to compete on an ever evolving TV and Entertainment stages.

POP TV, the CBS-owned cable network, is busy adding to their roster of original sitcoms. A little over a week ago, POP TV announced that it was reviving the Netflix cancelled show One Day At A Time. Today, POP is announcing that they are adding a new sitcom called Bad Intentions from American Pie writer Adam Herz.

Herz will write and produce the 8-episode sitcom for the cable network. The Hollywood Reporter says:

Best Intentions stars David Fynn (Undateable) as dad Andy Banks and Daniel Rashid (Stargate Origins) as his son, Nate. Lindsey Gort (Impastor, The Carrie Diaries) will also be a regular as Katie Baxter, a teacher with whom Andy is smitten. Guest stars in the series premiere include Sarah Levy of Pop’s flagship show Schitt’s Creek, Natalie Ganzhorn and Benjamin Ayres.”

POP TV’s premiere sitcom is Schitt’s Creek, will end in 2020. Other original sitcoms include One Day At A Time, Florida Girls, Flack, Hollywood Darlings, and coming soon, Hot Date.
