DC is an endless font of frustration and unhappiness.  Their dependence on crossovers and tie-ins and line-wide events are at odds with their writers ability to craft a decent story. I was so excited…SO EXCITED!…when Zero Year was announced, as it seemed like a loophole to steal Batman out of the connected New 52 universe for a year. But unfortunately it’s already taken a month off for Villains’ Month, with a loosely connected Riddler issue that added nothing to the greater narrative, and now for this Batman Eternal issue, which has no connection to Zero Year whatsoever. It doesn’t even seem to have any connection to the New 52. It’s some weird future story that, as far as I can tell, was only published as Batman #28 because Batman Eternal #0 wouldn’t have sold as well. And then DC did a month of Zero Year tie-ins in other bat-titles that tore a hole in each of their respective stories.

It’s gross.

I hate it.
