Uncanny X-Men #10

Thor:  God of Thunder #11

-LET’S TRY TO COMPLETE THAT HANGING THOUGHT ABOUT THOR: GOD OF THUNDER, OKAY?

The way that issue 10 ended left me afraid that the story was stuck in that awful place where the events were too big to occur, but if they didn’t occur it would lose all of its gravity and meaning.  But Jason Aaron’s solution was so elegant that I’m convinced that he came up with that moment first and attempted to create a story that could live up to it.  And not only was it just a brilliant new addition to Thor history (Thorstory? No? Okay, fair enough.), but it was a story told just as perfectly as the ten issues that preceded it.  As someone who holds Walt Simonson’s and (chunks of) J. Michael Straczynski’s runs in such high regard, this is something I do not say lightly:  this has been one of the best Thor stories (Thorstories? No? Still terrible?) I have ever read…and in theory it’s just getting started.  Excitement looms large.
