I enjoyed Trillium’s dual storylines, and how they overlapped and swapped and everything went insane multiple times. I liked our two main characters, and their personal arcs and adventures of discovery. And I absolutely loved the way the story was told graphically, with flipbooks and upside-down pages and alien languages to decode. But I never connected with the love story. And the book feels hollow as a result.
