Like many sitcoms in years past (The Office, Parks & Recreation, etc.), The Big Show Show’s first season isn’t good. In fact, it is quite bad. Paul White stars as The Big Show in Netflix’s original sitcom, The Big Show Show. The series follows real life WWE Superstar, The Big Show, after his career ends in the ring. Show is trying to become the father he wanted to be in his entire life.
The show has a ton of room to become a great sitcom, but the likelihood of the show being given that opportunity to grow into a great show is unlikely. Netflix is notorious for canceling shows before they are able to get their footing.
The good:
- Paul White could be a good actor is they can figure out what works for him. He has shown glimpses and he hasn’t historically turned down ideas that could compromise his credibility
- Allison Munn plays the wife of Big Show and she has shown that she could be the anchor and glue for the entire show
- Big Show’s daughter’s can become highlights on the show to help White become a better comedic actor.
The Bad:
- White’s acting. It is quite bad. You can tell he is reciting lines, not living them.
- The writing. So far, the writing is really bad.
As I dive further into this series, I hope that we see better acting, better writing, and longevity for the show.
