FreeForm TV’s show Young & Hungry stars Emily Osment as a 23-year old chef who gets hired by a tech millionaire and falls in love with him. Well, there is a lot more involved in that.
Osment stars as Gabi Diamond. Gabi’s best friend is Sophie Rodriguez played by Aimee Carrero. Jonathan Sadowski plays Josh Kaminski, the millionaire tech mogul who hired Gabi to cook for him. Rex Lee plays Josh’s gay publicist, Elliot. Kym Whitley plays Yolanda, Josh’s badass housekeeper. The show is executive-produced by Ashley Tisdale (Tisdale also plays Logan Rawlins, a lesbian editor, and media mogul).
I recommend Binge watching this series. It’s not a massive commitment to binge. Seasons 1, 3, 4, and 5 all have 10 episodes while season 2 has 20.
The writing in this show is pretty good. You can tell, however, that it is a Disney owned/produced show by the editing and the music they use. The show is designed for young adults and has some really amazing moments. Plus, we all know a couple like Josh and Gabi.
Josh and Gabi spend the better part of the season trying to figure themselves out. Should they be together? Should they or shouldn’t they sleep together? EVERYONE knows a couple who can’t stand each other when they are together, and then can’t stand being apart. Although, I don’t know anyone who sleeps with their boss, dates them, breaks up with them AND still has their job.
I give this show 4/5 stars. But I also put it in my top tier for binge watching.
