NBC cancels ‘A Little Late with Lilly Singh’ after 2 seasons

It was just over 2 years ago that NBC announced they were moving on from Carson Daly to bring on Lilly Singh. Now, after 2 seasons, Lilly Singh is exiting her late night show on NBC.

A Little Late with Lilly Singh is being cancelled. Singh says she is going to focus on her production deal with Universal Television Alternative Studios and a comedy series on Netflix. A Little Late‘s last episode will air June 3rd.

“I’m excited to take this next step in my relationship with NBCUniversal and launch a new partnership between my company Unicorn Island Productions and Universal Television Alternative Studio,” Singh said Thursday. “This is a career step that I could only dream of when I started out as a creator, and I look forward to working alongside their team to create projects that bring underrepresented voices to the forefront.”

NBC is rumored to be moving away from a talk format for the 1:30 time slot that Carson Daly held for almost 17 years.
