Next up, the Tag Team Championship match between Titus O’Neil and Apollo, against Sheamus and Cesaro. I was really rooting for Titus Worldwide, I enjoy watching them together and they have proved they can beat the champs because they did last Monday night on RAW in a non-title matchup! Bummed that the titles didn’t change hands tonight in what was a relatively quick, predictable contest.
I was very much looking forward to the Nia Jax vs. Asuka match. I can’t be the only person who’s tired of Asuka’s drawn out winning streak. I was rooting for Jax all the way, but figured Asuka would get the win, heading to WrestleMania and likely facing Bliss for the women’s title. Asuka is a great wrestler, don’t get me wrong, I am impressed by her, but bored with her constant winning, that’s all.
I enjoyed the Matt Hardy/Bray Wyatt match, and I guess the outcome probably could have gone either way, but I did predict Hardy would get the win and he did. I love both of their current characters; I find them highly entertaining, especially Hardy’s right now.
We’ve been hearing about it for weeks, Ronda Rousey is officially coming to the WWE and signing her contract tonight! Promos were played leading up the contract signing event and then Kurt Angle came out to the ring, followed by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon respectively. As I watched Ronda Rousey come down the aisle, I could almost feel what she was thinking and feeling, it was written all over her face. It was incredible to see her dream of being a part of the WWE coming to fruition right in front of our eyes. When she came to the ring and started to speak, she said she was speechless, and it looked as though she was crying. A moment that she has probably waited her entire life for, must have felt absolutely surreal right then! I almost felt like crying myself just watching her, I am a fan of Rousey’s and am proud and excited that she gets to live out her dream on the biggest stage of all. Her promo wasn’t the greatest, but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt, there was a lot going on, a lot of feelings, a lot of people watching, she was probably so nervous and excited, and although not brand new to fighting, TV or performing, brand new to the WWE. So she absolutely gets a pass from me, and she kind of redeemed herself anyway a few minutes later…
