Ryan Reynolds could be gearing up to make HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars should Mint Mobile pull the trigger on a potential sale.
The Deadpool actor acquired somewhere between 20-25% of Mint Mobile in 2019 when he became a spokesperson for the brand. Now, the company is looking at a sale rumored to be worth $800 million.
The New York Post reports that Mint Mobile has grown its social media followers to 38 million on Instagram and 18 million on Twitter. This is credited to Reynolds.
Mint’s possible new owner? Altice USA, which owns cable outlets, phone, internet and wireless services as well. Altice USA’s CEO said on an earnings call that they are “looking at being more aggressive on the mobile side.”
Mint Mobile was started in 2016 in California. The company uses the T-Mobile network for their services. According to the New York Post, Mint Mobile has seen revenue grow 50,000% between 2017 and 2020.
