McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinki announced that corporate office workers will be returning to the office for 3 days a week.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Kempczinski said while remote working has “worked well for the time” but the company was “committed to getting back into our offices, getting back into the restaurants.”
“We ultimately are an in-person business,” he said. “We’re in-person in the restaurants. We’re in-person in the office.”
While the return to in-office work has become controversial with workers, many businesses are asking for their employees to return to the office a few days a week. Apple and Google have announced their returns to the office as well.
McDonalds had allowed their staff members to work remote one day a week. The new policy allows workers to work remote two days a week.
According to Business Insider, 6% of workers say they will quit their jobs if they were forced to return to the office full time.
