Country legend Garth Brooks has cancelled his stadium tour due to rising Covid cases.
Brooks, who sold recently sold out the 86,000-seat stadium in Nebraska, has cancelled his 5 remaining 2021 shows. Brooks cites his fear of the Covid variant, Delta.
“In July, I sincerely thought the pandemic was falling behind us. Now, watching this new wave, I realize we are still in the fight and I must do my part,” Brooks said in a statement on his website.
Brooks takes Covid seriously as his wife got Covid earlier this year.
“But with a hopeful heart, we will reschedule and start over when this wave seems to be behind us,” Brooks said, noting the “joy (he has) seen in everyone’s faces as live music returns.”
