Law & Order: SVU’s beloved character, Elliot Stabler, is coming back to TV, albeit, not on SVU. NBC announced that Law & Order creator and producer Dick Wolfe signed a five-year deal to stick with Universal Television last month.
According to the New York Post, Christopher Meloni is returning to the Law & Order family as Stabler in a spin-off show. The new show will be based in New York like SVU, which makes it possible for Meloni’s character to be reunited with Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson.
The Post also reports that Dick Wolfe will be the executive producer and former Chicago P.D. show runner, Matt Olmstead, could be signed on as the writer/showrunner.
