Tim Allen returned as the leading man on FOX’s Last Man Standing (Man, it’s weird typing FOX instead of ABC), and the show did not disappoint. All our favorite people, with two exceptions, returned to the show and made us all laugh.
Allen was his typical “Mike Baxter” self as he criticized the show’s cancelation by saying that the network are “a bunch of idiots”.
The first show was essentially summarizing the last year and a half of the countries interactions with one another. There are tons of tension between the liberal family members and the conservative ones while Ryan threatens to move his family to Canada.
Here are a few of my thoughts on the new season on the new home:
The new Mandy Baxter is overplaying the fact that Mandy had been an airhead. What I loved about Molly Ephriam is that she played an airhead so well while not making it obvious. She just casually missed the important things in life, where Molly McCook (who not plays Mandy) just LOOKED like she was an airhead.
McCook’s opening line on the show was “Mom, you’ll never guess, but I got lost upstairs”. Not sure if the show is trying to make her seem like a complete idiot, or if that’s the way McCook is interrupting the writing. Ephriam’s rendition of Mandy Baxter was a cunning, somewhat street smart, dummy who also has enough wherewithal to start her own business. I hope, once things get going a bit more, that we see more of the traits from the old Mandy and ditch this blatant blond act.

I am overly excited about the show being back. This show is truly great and has been since it’s
