Britain’s Crown Prosecution Services (CPS), the agency that prosecutes in England and Wales, has charged disgraced actor Kevin Spacey with sexual assault charges, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“The CPS has authorized criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men” who are now in their 30s and 40s, Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said in a statement Thursday afternoon. “He has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the [London] Metropolitan Police in its investigation.”
According to the report, Spacey was appointed as the Artistic Director of the Old Vic theater. Metro Police stated in a statement that Spacey assaulted these men between 2005 and 2013.
This is not the first time that Spacey has been accused of sexual assault. In 2017, he was accused of assaulting an underaged man. He subsequently came out as gay.
