The James Comey inspired Showtime miniseries, The Comey Rule is coming to the network in September. The series will follow the relationship between the disgraced former FBI Director James Comey and President Donald Trump.
Showtime originally hinted that the miniseries would premiere well after Election Day 2020 but has now set the premiere on Sunday. September 27 and Monday, September 28.
Writer and Director, Billy Ray, expressed “disappointment” when Showtime announced the series will be out after the election.
“We all were hoping to get this story in front of the American people months before the coming election,” Ray wrote in an email to his cast members, adding that “word started drifting back to me that a decision about our airdate had been made at the very highest levels of Viacom: All talk of our airing before the election was suddenly a ‘non-starter.’”
The miniseries is based on James Comey’s best selling memoir, A Higher Loyalty.
