Hasbro CEO dies two days after taking a medical leave

Toymaker Hasbro announced on Tuesday that longtime CEO Brian Goldner has died.

The death of Goldner comes just two days after he took a medical leave to focus on his cancer treatment. Board member and former CEO of InnerWorkings Rich Stoddart has been named interim CEO.

According to the New York Post, Goldner joined Hasbro in 2000 and was named Chief Executive in 2008.

“He expanded the company beyond toys and games into television, movies, digital gaming and beyond,” Hasbro said.

Goldner was also a member of the board for ViacomCBS.
