Goo Goo Dolls reinvent their sound

goo-goo-dolls-4f319bafa9608Long time pop/rock band The Goo Goo Dolls released a new album called Boxes and they have reinvented themselves. The band is known for songs like “Iris” and “Let Love In” have created a more up beat pop sound that makes the band sound fresh and young.

This album is probably the only Goo Goo Dolls record that I can listen to from start to finish. I have done so about three dozen times already. I don’t think there is a single bad song on this record.

If you are looking for a fun, upbeat song to run too, “Reverse” is that song. The song starts slow, good for the start of your run. A the song goes on, it picks up and becomes more of a dance anthem. Seriously, listen to this song.

On this record, Johnny invited Sydney from Ecosmith to sing on a fun track called “The Flood”. This is the first official track that Johnny has welcomed a female voice on. Other amazingly good songs include “The Pin”, “Prayer in my Pocket” and “Over and Over.

Go and get this record you won’t regret it.
