In an interesting Twist, a cable network announces they are closing a streaming service instead of launching one.
FX launched an ad-free streaming service in 2017 called FX+. FX+ was launched as an add-on to your cable bill. You could subscribe for $6 a month and you were given an ad-free experience for the FX cable network.
Disney has since purchased FX and is planning on launching their own streaming service, Disney Plus. FX is also going to be a major content provider to Hulu. FX+ has become obsolete.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the FX+ site has a message where they announced that the service is ending as of August 21, 2019. FX will continue to have FXNow as a service.
