Former Democratic Presidential hopeful, Michael Avenatti, found GUILTY on extortion charges

Former Presidential hopeful and current disgraced lawyer, Michael Avenatti, was found guilty of extortion early Friday morning. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Avenatti just stared and did not react to the verdict.

Famously, Avenatti was the driving force behind the Stormy Daniels lawsuit against the President, Donald Trump. Trump would go on to win that case and force Daniels to reimburse the President for legal fees.

Daniels would also accuse Avenatti of stealing money from her as well.

In 2019, Avenatti announced that he would be holding a press conference to announce “discovery” about Nike. Avenatti said, “Tmrw [sic] at 11 am ET, we will be holding a press conference to disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by @Nike that we have uncovered. This criminal conduct reaches the highest levels of Nike and involves some of the biggest names in college basketball.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Avenatti told Nike that he would not hold the press conference if the company paid his client $1.5 million and hired the attorney to conduct an internal investigation for $20 million.

In California, Avenatti is facing felony charges in relation to allegedly defrauding clients out of millions of dollars. He is also facing tax charges.
