Disney+ touts 29 million paid users

Disney+ is touting 29 million paid users in its first quarter as a service.

“The launch of Disney+ has been enormously successful, exceeding even our greatest expectations,” CEO Bob Iger said during a call with investors in which he revealed that Disney+ continues to add users at a solid clip, reaching 28.6 million paid subscribers as of Feb 3.

Disney has to be extremely happy with the number of subscribers that have signed up for the new streaming service. Disney defines a subscriber as anyone who is paying for their service, even if it is a bundle deal with their other streaming services.
