Disgraced soon-to-be former Governor of New York and alleged pervert Andrew Cuomo is going to be just fine when he leaves office.
The New York Post reports that Cuomo is still eligible for his pension. This could be one of the driving forces for him resigning after being so dead set on not stepping down.
His golden parachute would be $50,000 a year. Why? Because he hasn’t been charged and convicted of a crime. “So if you’re wondering, without a felony conviction and several other steps, Cuomo would be eligible for his full pension, at taxpayer expense, for the rest of his life,” said Tim Hoefer, president and CEO of the Empire Center for Public Policy.
According to the Post, Cuomo would be making $4,222 a month. The only way his pension would be revoked would be if he gets convicted of a felony.
Cuomo handed in his two week’s notice on Tuesday and is gearing up to leave office.
