Updated @ 3:21 PST. Gayle King announced on her radio show, ‘Gayle King in the House’ that she has signed an extension with CBS.
CNN President has reached out to CBS This Morning co-host and soon-to-be Free Agent, Gayle King, to come to CNN at the 9PM hour, NY Post reports.
Zucker is said to believe that King could help bring some loyal viewers to the cable news network. CNN’s ratings have been in a ratings free fall since the 2020 election. King’s contract is rumored to be expiring this year.
As we wrote last week, King is said to want to work from Los Angeles to be near her friend Oprah Winfrey and family. Zucker is said to be open to letting King work from Los Angeles.
King currently earns $9 million per year at CBS. Would CBS be willing to offer her more money than that? We will see.
NY Post is reporting that King may have already agreed to a contract renewal at CBS.
