Fox News anchor Chris Wallace is leaving the conservative news network to join CNN’s digital platform, CNN+.
The announcement was made on Fox News Sunday as Wallace’s finals day hosting the show.
“After 18 years — this is my final ‘Fox News Sunday.’ It is the last time, and I say this with real sadness, we will meet like this,” Wallace said.
Wallace called his time on Fox News a “great ride” but that he was “ready for a new adventure.”
“I am thrilled to join CNN+. After decades in broadcast and cable news, I am excited to explore the world of streaming. I look forward to the new freedom and flexibility streaming affords in interviewing major figures across the news landscape — and finding new ways to tell stories,” Wallace said in a statement.
This news comes just a few days after Brian Williams signed-off from MSNBC and a week after Chris Cuomo was fired from CNN. The difference between the Cuomo or Williams departures is that we know where Wallace is going – to the competition.
Wallace joined Fox News in 2003.
