AEW’s third episode of Dynamite had 1.014 million viewers on TNT, with NXT having 712,000 viewers. Both shows are down a bit from last week’s episodes.
Commentary: Both sides need to be concerned about the downside trend in ratings. Part of the issue going to be establishing a habit for viewers to tune in to the product every week.
According to TheWrap, AEW should be celebrating right now! All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite had 1.4 million viewers while NXT saw 891,000 viewers.

“Dynamite” more than doubled its competition in the key adults 18-49 demographic, scoring 878,000 viewers compared to “NXT’s” 414,000 (putting the USA wrestling series up 1% from its week-ago broadcast in that metric).
Note: I predicted 1.3M. I was close!
WWE’s developmental brand, NXT, announced a that they are bringing back the War Games match in Los Angeles. Here is the full announcement:
NXT TakeOver: WarGames returns this November when the black-and-yellow brand comes to the STAPLES Center on the eve of Survivor Series on Saturday, Nov. 17.

The NXT Universe witnessed the monumental return of the first WarGames Match in nearly 20 years last November. Initially made famous as one of the premier match types in the NWA and, later, WCW, WarGames is a battleground unlike any other, pitting teams against each other inside two rings surrounded by a steel cage.
Last year’s match, fought among Undisputed ERA, Authors of Pain & Roderick Strong and SAnitY, set a new standard for brutality and gave Undisputed ERA bragging right after they picked up the historic win.

Commentary: It’s encouraging to see NXT have a few gimmicks that are exclusively theirs. WWE and NXT should try to create two different worlds when it comes to their in-ring product.
PWInsider.com interviewed Triple H on numerous topics. One of the items for discussion came when Hunter was asked about NXT’s future on the WWE Network.
Here are his comments on NXT leaving the WWE Network:
Levesque commented, “As far as where NXT ends up, as that brand continues to grow, never say never, I guess. For the value of the Network, NXT is a valuable part of the WWE Network. Where it ends up, I don’t know. Obviously, that’s a decision that Vince [McMahon] will make and the team here will make strategically as to where everything sits, just as we do everything else in our ecosystem as far as where we put content. It’s a constantly challenging question for us. Good problem to have, right?”
Commentary: With the amount of money WWE will be getting from the new TV deals, it wouldn’t surprise me if NXT ended up on a cable network. However, I think it would be in the best interest for the WWE Network to keep NXT where it has been since 2014.
WWE Smackdown Live‘s ratings are in and they are pretty much the same as they were last week. Smackdown Live has 2,293,000 viewers last week and this week they got 2,298,000 viewers. Taking into account the margin of error and the idea that Neilson ratings are an estimate of an estimate, this rating is essentially identical to last weeks ratings.
