While no one seems to know where he got approved for this massive job, Elon Musk claims to have gotten verbal approval to build a Hyperloop from the government. According to Musk, the Hyperloop would get travelers from Washington, DC to New York in 29 minutes.

Tim Cook talked to Bloomberg about the new Apple HomePod.
Commentary: I’ve been saying for years that Apple isn’t in the business of being first, they are in the business of being the best. If you look at the last 6 years or so, Apple recreated the Tablets and the industry followed. Samsung beat Apple to the market in mobile pay services, but Apple made it better and became a standard for many retail stores. Blackberry was the standard in smartphones and Apple essential destroyed them in sales to the point where Blackberry is no longer creating hardware. The HomePod has a few competitors and is starting with a huge deficit in potential sales. Amazon’s Echo and Alexa and Google’s Home, Apple has an uphill battle.
Apple took more than two hours at its 2017 WWDC developer’s conference to announce everything, including a new home speaker device called the HomePod; person-to-person payments using Apple Pay; AR developer functionality for the iPhone and iPad; the addition of Amazon Prime video to Apple TV; the launch of iOS 11 and a Mac OS upgrade called High Sierra; plus updated iMacs, iPads, Apple Watches and more.
