Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” – Review

Ariana Grande’s third studio album, Dangerous Woman, released on May 20, 2016. Dangerous Woman has a few guest appearances by Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Macy Gray, and Future.

Prior to the album’s release there were 2, technically 3, lead singles. “Focus”, which released on October 30, 2015, was the original lead single for this album, however it was only included as a bonus track on the Japanese edition!

The actual lead single of this album was appropriately titled, “Dangerous Woman” which released on March 11, 2016. This song showed a dangerously sexy side of Grande that further proved she is way past the Nickelodeon days!

Side note: Grande’s third album was originally supposed to be called, Moonlight but decided that because “Dangerous Woman” was a more empowering and stronger track than “Moonlight” that it would be a better lead single and title for the album, and I completely agree.

The second single from this album was “Into You” which released on May 6, 2016. But don’t think Grande left us waiting that long for a second single, in the meantime she also released two promotional singles from the album, “Be Alright” and her collab with Lil Wayne, “Let Me Love You.”

With the release of Dangerous Woman, Ariana Grande shows that she is not going anywhere and that she is, in fact, a grown, dangerous(?) woman because, yes, there is an explicit and a clean version of the album! Honestly, just buy the explicit version, Ariana’s voice makes even the worst curse word sound like it’s a compliment, truly. This album showed off that she can pretty much do anything, with the soulful songs, to sexy and mysterious, to even a reggae-like track featuring Nicki Minaj.

Letter grade? Probably an B simply because the original single “Focus” is only on the Japanese edition, because I truly loved that song!

If you haven’t already check out the album, and if you need convincing that she is an amazing singer, check out this video of her singing “Dangerous Woman” A Capella status.

All them tears gon’ come and go

I made too many mistakes
Better get this right, right, baby”

Just as long as you know you got me (you got me)

Is it love when you stole my peace of mind?

All I want, all I need, honestly, it’s just me and you”

They say it’s wrong, but
That’s the way you turn me on”

So why don’t we fall in love?
Baby let’s be in love”

In love forever
And you gave me the key to all your love and all your pleasure

But at least I have the memory
I tried to make it through the night
But I can’t control my mind
I’m just thinkin’ bout you”
