American Idol News & Notes: Seacrest talks hosting, Potential Judges

Ryan Seacrest speaks on Idol future: Seacrest was interviewed by Variety and talked about if he wanted to host the show. Seacrest said he’s trying to figure out how he can do it, and would probably fly coast-to-coast every week. Seacrest told Variety that hosting Idol is “Doable”.

The rumor mill on Judges: TMZ is reporting that the Idol producers are looking at Lionel Richie to judge alongside Katy Perry. Richie hasn’t officially been offered a job on the show, but producers think he is the best candidate for the show. Keith Urban has also commented on returning to the show. In and interview with the Bobby Jones show, Urban said that Idol has a lot of moving pieces and believes that a deal can be worked out. In an attempt to compete with The Voice on NBC, Idol producers are rumored to be negotiating with Luke Bryan (one of Blake Shelton’s good friends and close rivals) to have Bryan join the show as well.

Phillip Phillips settles Idol Lawsuit: Phillip Phillips sued 19 Entertainment for forcing Phillips to perform at events that didn’t benefit the singer. No details were released about the settlement.
