The season 6 finale of the hit USA Network show Suits was last night and it took viewers on an emotional rollercoaster.
While I will do my best to avoid spoilers, I cannot promise that this will be spoiler free. Actually, I guarantee this will have spoilers.
For the majority of the second half of season 6, we saw Mike and Harvey spend most of their time trying to help get Rachel and Mike into the bar. As you can imagine, Rachel was much easier to accomplish. Harvey was able to find an in for Mike and they went for it.
The “in” included a big legitimate lawsuit being done illegally, Harvey manipulating members of the Bar’s Ethics committee. And in typical Suits fashion, things stand in the way.
In the season finale, we find out that Anita Gibbs returns to the show and gets herself onto the Ethics Committee to block Mike’s vote. Over the course of the episode, we see Harvey trying to find a way to get Gibbs kicked off the committee.
In the end, it took Jessica returning to the show to remind Anita of a time she showed grace to someone and that she should once again show some grace.
While all of this was going on, we found ourselves thrown back into the love life of Louis Litt and Tara. In the previous episode, we saw Louis and Tara fighting over the fact that Louis kept a secret from Tara and then threw Tara’s sins in her face. On the finale, we see Louis trying to make up for acting rash.
Donna and Benjamin are trying to get their virtual assistant onto the market and are having a hard time getting passed a patent issue. Donna turns to Louis and Louis is only able to get Donna a buy-out offer.
Suits leaves us with a few major cliff-hangers: Mike gets into the bar and agrees to return to Pearson Spector Litt under two conditions: He can take as many cases as he wants (and bring in a staff from the clinic) and that Harvey moves into Jessica’s old office and Mike take Harvey’s current office. The other cliff-hanger is will Donna and Harvey finally be a things. They ended the season with Donna hinting that she “wants it all”.
Overall, the season finale of Suits was probably the best yet. An amazing story being set up for the future.
