-ALL-NEW X-MEN CONTINUES TO IMPRESS?  WELL OKAY THEN!

We’re one arc in and the book is larger than the sum of its parts.  Bringing the original X-Men team into the present, by itself, is not enough to captivate me.  Cyclops gradually becoming Magneto?  Interesting, but by itself a shallow story pool.  Beast on the edge of death feels like an attempt to shock more than an actual plot point.  But between giving Jean Grey a look into her future, the Beasts working together, and Evil Scott Summers believing in his heart that he’s doing the right thing while being judged by his naive past, it’s hitting some amazing notes.  Perhaps most shockingly, I am really looking forward to seeing more of Evil Scott in Uncanny X-Men.
