The Voice is set for another round of coach shuffling with Gwen Stefani returning for the 12th cycle of the show. Stefani will join Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys. Miley Cyrus will return for season 13.
“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”
Carson Daly also returns as host for the 12th season.
Ruben’s Commentary: The Voice has been consistent with it’s ever revolving door of coaches. Over it’s 12 seasons, there have been 10 coaches to share the big red chairs. The only time that the show had a set stable of coaches was during the first three seasons with the show’s bookends of Blake Shelton and Adam Levine with Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera. Other than rotating the same cast of coaches every other season, the show’s only other staple is host Carson Daly. They should consider doing a set of 2 or 3 seasons. They also make it possible for the coaches to continue a full time or part time.
