Iconic fashion designer Kate Spade has passed away at the age of 55. She was found dead in her NYC apartment on Tuesday from an apparent suicide.
Spade was reportedly found by her housekeeper, hanging by a red scarf tied to a door knob. Sources say she left a suicide note, but have not revealed what it said.
Ms. Spade along with her husband Andy, launched a line of handbags in 1993, which grew to become massively popular and eventually expanded to clothing, shoes and jewelry.
Kate Spade New York has over 175 shops internationally, and 140 retail shops and outlet stores across the United States.
