-A WORD ON A GAME OF THRONES
I loved the HBO series so much that I actually sat down and starting reading the books so I could find out what happened next ASAP. Like the show, the book was unbelievably packed with information. I couldn’t possibly imagine that it was possible to convert it into a monthly comic without losing everything that made it shine. Well guess what? It’s not. It hit the story beats and had some of the great lines, but with nothing underneath. This is no way to experience this epic story. I would urge anyone who loves exciting plot and character work, and can also deal with being buried in exposition for a while until the story explodes, to read or watch A Game of Thrones. I would also urge anyone to avoid the comic like the plague. It’s butt.
